#17 : Your Default Settings

Image
Your Default settings There was a wealthy businessman who had a beautiful daughter and as in ancient times happens for marriage, he organised a Swayamvara ( where the bride chooses bridegroom), so that girl selects her husband. He also held a contest, so that best comes forward. The competition was that they have to cross a small pond filled with reptiles, crocodiles etc.   A lot of young people gathered around the pound, but no one was taking the initiative or trying. King was getting depressed and anxious,   BUT suddenly one person came forward and crossed the whole pond like a breeze, Businessman was very happy and approached to the winner with excitement along with his daughter. Somehow the young man didn't seem to be excited and was looking here and there. Businessman asked what the problem is? Did he not like his daughter? The young person replied that he had no plans for marriage. I am searching for that person who pushed me into the pond. Sometimes change ...

#16 : Don't Change, Transform

Image
Don't Change, Transform We all talk about transformation in our lives; the question comes how do you know transformation has taken place?   We don't want to change we want to transform. Transformation is nothing but shifting your default status, Like earlier if you were saying NO when something was asked to you, and now you think before you reply for a larger cause, this is transformation.     Like you now respond instead you react, this is transformation. There is a difference between your reaction and response. You react instantaneously but respond with a pause. ·        Now you feel good/happy about someone else growing. If someone if is progressing in Life or area, you genuinely pleased about him or her. It is a transformation . ·        You feel happy about sharing knowledge. Wisdom and enable others to achieve their goal. You share knowledge without being jealous. ·    ...

#15 : Changes come with an Expiry date

Image
#Changes come   with an Expiry date                    Change is the Only Constant as we know. But along with that, we should also remember all changes comes with an expiry date , which means nothing is constant. It's a paradox.   Change begins with discomfort and pain. But we should realize discomfort is the catalyst for growth. Let's understand 1.      What is the change? 2.      Why is it needed? 3.      And what we need to do to cope up with it?   In Our Work-life Context, if we see work wise, now the Shelf Life for any competencies is just 3-4 years, after that everything becomes outdated, and your relevance to the company goes away /diminishes!!!   Even a person in Gym needs new exercises. Innovation is always required. If you keep doing the same exercise after some time, it stops working f...

#14 : Mistaken Obituary

Image
  # Mistaken Obituary   Can you imagine reading your obituary in the newspaper?   How will you feel? Yes, somebody did, and he changed the world as we see. Alfred Nobel got the chance to read his death notice, and he didn't like what he saw. Alfred Nobel was a very wealthy and successful man. He had become an expert in chemistry and invented three of the most used explosives in the world - dynamite, gelignite (used in mining) and ballistite, which is still used as a rocket propellant today.   He made another enormous fortune designing cannons and guns and selling them around the world. Then, in 1888, Alfred's brother died while visiting France. A French newspaper thought it was Alfred who had died, and they published an obituary that began like this: THE MERCHANT OF DEATH IS DEAD. Dr Alfred Nobel, who became rich by finding ways to kill more people faster than ever before, died yesterday. Alfred Nobel was shocked. Were this what people thought of him? W...

#13 : Life is a Journey

Image
Life is a journey, and we all in it in different stages. Ups and downs are part and parcel of the journey. We should not judge people where they are, even if we may have started our journey at some point in time. S/he may have embarked their journey from different stations. You may have progressed further in your Life, but they are yet those stations. Similarly, some may have gone ahead of you as well. Last year , I attended Shobha Soul fest where Guruji   Gaur Gopal Das came, during his Speech, he metaphorically compared Life journey to Air Travel.   He divided air travel into three parts, Take Off, In the plane and Landing . Where if you see Take-off and Landing you don't have any control, whatever is done by the Pilots.   For our understanding, they can be our GODs or events for which we have no control over it. While when we are on a plane , the actual journey, that part we can make it memorable, happier. So, it's in our hands to create Memories, happ...
