#15 : Changes come with an Expiry date

#Changes come  with an Expiry date

Change is the Only Constant as we know. But along with that, we should also remember all changes comes with an expiry date, which means nothing is constant. It's a paradox.  Change begins with discomfort and pain. But we should realize discomfort is the catalyst for growth.

Let's understand

1.     What is the change?

2.     Why is it needed?

3.     And what we need to do to cope up with it?

In Our Work-life Context, if we see work wise, now the Shelf Life for any competencies is just 3-4 years, after that everything becomes outdated, and your relevance to the company goes away /diminishes!!!  Even a person in Gym needs new exercises. Innovation is always required. If you keep doing the same exercise after some time, it stops working for you and doesn't fetch any results.  For growth, change is needed.

To survive individually in any industry, we need to develop skills regularly so that we are adding value and Be Relevant so that we are in demand. Otherwise, we may become stagnant as the lake where water is Still and doesn't change, and after sometimes it smells . We need to keep Reskilling ourselves, keep adding new skills to our list, relevant to times.

How we cope with it? We need to welcome change, don't resist change, as that is our 1st response or our default setting,  as we are in our comfort zones. There is a need to change our default setting of saying NO to any change. We should  come out of this resistance to change by releasing our attachment to the Outcome. It's fear of Outcome that makes us resist change. If we don't change our expiry date is somewhere near .

  1. This is probably one of your posts in which every word is true to the core. It's applicable to each and every working professional and I think somewhere or the other, we all have faced this sometime or the other .. As they say, nothing is permanent except change !
