Ubuntu: “I am because We are “

I am because WE are, this is Ubuntu (African Philosophy), meaning Humanity. It's often translated as “humanity towards others”. In the current situation, this is the need of the hour. We all are and should try to help and support in whatever way or form we can. Even if it is physically helping people out by supporting them, listening to people woes and grief by taking time out, financially helping or emotionally helping, all is worth enough and it means a lot.

Most IT professional know ubuntu as Open Source Linux platform. The idea of open source comes from Ubuntu, meaning sharing. Ubuntu is a belief in a universal bond of sharing that connects all humanity.

There is an African story, where a person visits a remote village in Africa with 100 sweets. He saw a lot of children were playing around and he wanted to give sweets to them. He called a group and said to them, I will give these 100 sweets to a person who will win the race. He pointed to them a destination point and told them whoever reaches that post first will get all these sweets. All children stood across the starting line, just before the start they all held hands with each other and ran together to the target destination a crossed the finishing line together. All of them got the sweets which they enjoyed together by sharing.

The person was intrigued and captivatingly asked them why did you do this? They said it's because of Ubuntu. How can we be happy when others are SAD? “I am because WE/YOU ARE “.
